It’s nearly that time again when unrealistic promises are made to last an unrealistic length of time, only to make you feel as though you’ve underachieved, are unaccomplished, unfulfilled and under pressure.

My personal choice is to flow alongside the lunar cycle, offering myself a fresh start, new perspective, opportunity to review, reflect and release as necessary - and this I get to do every 28 days. So as another new moon begins, I invite you to take your time with your intentions and follow their growth with the rounding of the moon. Or not. Whatever works for you!

This is just a reminder that we rarely get it right first go, so give yourself time. Time to turn the page, begin a new chapter, start a new leaf, re-read your story or close the book and write a new one. But in your own time. Not because it’s a new year, a new moon or a new day, but because it makes sense to you.

Start over as many times as you need!

Winter Solstice Blessings 🌚🌞

The wheel of the year is turning as we tilt at our furthest from the sun and are plunged into the deepest and darkest time of the year.

What a beautiful and significant time to embrace, as we emerge from the darkness and gradually lean back towards the light.

Honouring the Winter Solstice is a great way to call back the light and your own personal power, whilst observing the mystery, magic and lessons that the darkness often brings.

My favourite way to do this is to light a beautiful solstice fire with my daughter. We set our intentions at this time and allow ourselves to release anything unhelpful. Our solstice fire not only provides, but represents the light, the warmth and the hope which inspires us to reignite our own inner light.

Blending essential oils are a wonderful and natural way to remedy stress, tension, headaches, as well as raising energy levels, increasing focus and providing many other benefits too.

These roller ball remedies are so quick and simple to make.

Always ensure you use a decent carrier oil - I’ve used castor oil here and then about 15 drops of essential oils into these 10ml bottles.

This week and last, I had the pleasure of guest teaching for the year 10 Health and Social Care students at Herne Bay High School, to assist them with their coursework studies.

We covered a variety of different therapy techniques and the benefits they bring to our holistic health and well-being. We also discussed where the phrase, “it’s a vibe!” comes from and why that’s important 😉 as well as why and how we take care of our spiritual hygiene.

It was a wonderful feeling to be invited back, having taught the year 11s previously, but also to know that the school support the importance of the values that guest speakers like myself have to share with their students.
I look forward to collaborating with the school again, before too long.

Let your intuition guide you 👁🧠

How often do you get a ‘gut feeling’ or a ‘strong instinct’ about something? And if you’re honest, how often do you pay attention or listen to that feeling?

Perhaps you’ve had a distant friend cross your mind only for you to find they are all of a sudden calling you, or you get a strange sense that something is about to happen? Maybe you’ve stepped in to a room and have immediately felt drawn to, or cautious of a particular person?

For the highly intuitive, you might be able to quickly discern whether a certain situation, (or whatever it may be) is for you, whereas some others may deliberate a little longer.

We all have the ability to hone our intuition and embrace this inner knowing as we move through the ebb and flow of life. It’s just a matter of knowing how to filter out the noise and external conditioning that we are so frequently subjected to.

Learning how to really listen to our self is how we develop our intuition and trust that we already know our best path forward!

So take some time out each day to listen to yourself. Meditate, practice deep breathing and draw your focus inward.

Release the expectations of society - the subliminal and explicit indoctrination.

Pay attention to your dreams, the themes, colours, the elements etc.

Listen to your voice of inner knowing. Resist the urge to challenge it and instead, fully embrace it.

Then observe how quickly your sense of intuition grows.

The signs are all around us. The nudges, the prods and the pokes. We just have to be aware to really hear/see/feel them.

Making moon water is truly a lovely ritual. We already know there is a beautiful energetic connection between the element of water💧and the moon, and I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to gather a fresh batch of this energetically charged H20 with the full moon lunar eclipse today.

Water is incredibly receptive energetically and retains the intentions it has been infused with, as well as holding on to the power it absorbs from the moon itself. Throw in a few crystals and you’ve got yourself a whole container of magic!

You can work with the lunar cycle during any phase to harness the moon’s sway, it doesn’t have to be in its full phase, or during eclipse season.

Remember to retrieve your water from outside when the sun rises the following morning, and use it to water your plants, put some in your tea, add it to a ritual bath, cleanse your space with it…soo many uses.

A new moon is upon us, and so now is the perfect time to begin thinking about the energies from any actions, thoughts or emotions that we would like to carry forward, and what would serve us well to leave behind.

I talk a lot on here about intention setting and when the most opportune times within the lunar cycle are to put this in to practice, but I thought I might post a few prompts + pointers for anyone new to journalling, or looking for a little inspiration.

The first notable thing to point out is that there is no right or wrong way to journal or to register your intentions for the cycle ahead, but here are some areas that you might like to observe.

• Health - What change in habits could improve your mental, emotional and physical well-being?

4 tips to recenter yourself when you feel stressed, overwhelmed or anxious.

1. Breathe Deeply
Place your hands at your Solar Plexus - just above your belly button and inhale deeply through your nose for a slow count of 4, hold for 7 and exhale through the mouth for 8. Feel your chest and belly rise on the inhale and fall again as you exhale.

2. Focus On Your Heart Centre
The heart is at the very centre of our being, the core of connection to ourselves. We can seep energy from our heart centre just in the same way that we receive it.
Find a comfortable spot and place one or both hands at your heart, close your eyes and as best you can, release any outside thoughts. Become aware of your heart as it’s own space - a space for feelings to enter and exit. Allow and assist anything that feels uncomfortable to leave the space.

3. Become Aware Of Your Senses
Pay attention to all of your senses. What can be heard from both afar and within your close environment? Can you hear yourself breathing? What is in your line of sight and in your peripheral vision? If your eyes are closed, notice how your eyelids feel? What about the rest of you, notice how each part of your body feels. Where in your body do you feel gravity pull you the most?

4. Visualize
Sit or lay quietly and comfortably while you envisage yourself in a time or space where you are relieved of any stress or upheaval. This could be a in a particular place or with a person or people that bring calm and happiness to you, or something entirely imaginary that brings those same feelings. Immerse yourself in this vision for as long as you can. Add detail to your scene, add colour and smell, and anything else that brings this to life for you.

Me and my daughter like to have a little wiggle in the kitchen before school, it helps to liven us up a bit when it’s cold and dark outside. What’s your favourite form of exercise and how does it affect your mind, mood and body?

Getting on the mat and stretching out feels like coming home to me. This is where it all first started - teaching fitness and movement classes in London among a wonderful bunch of health and fitness professionals, who inspired me to no end.

I’m increasing the time I’m spending on my mat recently, learning how differently my body feels now to how it did back then, but the teacher within me is still live and kicking, it comes as second nature and I think I miss it! Who knows…I may bring this back for a reprise at some point in the future 🤔

The soothing sounds of the singing bowls never fails to attract the attention of my daughter, and wherever she goes, the pooch is sure to follow 👧🐶. This quickly became an impromptu group gathering wind down after a rainy day.

We use this room as our ‘intentional’ room. We have some cool lighting going on in there, and lots of floor cushions, blankets, insence, crystals and books. Don’t get me wrong, my kid enjoys being on a screen as much as the next, but I’m thrilled that she finds balance in this space with me 💜

For me, the New Year starts with the first lunar cycle of the year - that’s when I set intentions rather than resolutions. We happen to also be exiting a period of Mercury in retrograde as we begin the new lunar cycle in January. What a time to embrace!

To celebrate new beginnings, I am hosting an intimate, mindful, journalling workshop, where we will be harnessing all the energies of the cosmos and crafting our own journal pads from eco printed paper 📚📖
