How 1:1 Coaching Works

Personalised plan and check in calendar

Following your initial appointment via video link, you will receive your bespoke plan tailored personally to you. Think of this as your personal road map, outlining the process over the forthcoming weeks. You'll also receive your pre-arranged calendar dates and times for frequent check-in appointments.

Unlock the power of your full potential

This is where you get to unlock and discover the strength of the power within you. Now equipped with the tools, strategies and support to take your well-being to the next level, you will start to notice a shift in mindset and forward motion in areas of your personal development that have previously felt stifled and stagnant. Small and consistent changes utilising mindfulness practice, will sow the seed to dramatically improve your health and well-being.

Receive encouraging and motivating communications

Throughout the course of the programme and in between check-in appointments, you can expect to receive a wave of encouragement and continuing support via text, email and voicenote.

Don't forget, there's always an open line of communication available whenever you need it.

Check - in frequently

Each week, we will reconvene via video link for 1 hour. This is a regular check point which serves to monitor progress, implement any changes or adjustments and to offer support as you proceed.

Check-ins  provide opportunity to identify which methods are impactful and resonate with your best responses. We will also use this session to practice mindfuness techniques together.

Track your growth

Many of my clients find it beneficial to keep their own journal throughout the 8 week programme. This is not essential but a great way to measure your progress. There are other ways to monitor your progression of course, but spending some time to acknowledge your achievements and personal wins is all part of the process.

FAQ's

  • Why is the coaching programme for a minimum of 8 sessions / 8 weeks?
It takes time to implement and establish new behavioural patterns, and to release those that are no longer serving you. Based on a number of studies conducted by several health organisations across the UK, evidence conclusively suggests that it takes on average between 59 and 70 days to establish new habitual routines. It is important, therefore, to give the programme this time as a minimum period to ensure new adjustments are given opportunity to properly root . This provides you with the best chance to receive the results you desire.
  • What can I expect from my coaching sessions?
I will work closely and personally with you via video link (where available) or by telephone, so that we can first identify any areas of self limiting belief or unhealthy/unwelcome habits. We will then proceed to devise a strategy together to eradicate these limitations and replace them with much healthier, mindful lifestyle choices. There are a variety of holistic approaches that I use to assist you to release the old patterns and embrace the new - all utilised in line with the premise of mindfulness based cognitive therapy. These techniques include, mindfulness practice, present moment awareness, meditation, breathwork and other cognitive exercises. There is always a check - in at the start and close of each session. Check - ins are particularly helpful to bring insight and awareness to your own experiences and thoughts as you progress through the programme. This provides opportunity to identify which methods are impactful and from there, develop a continuum of practices that resonate with your best responses.
  • What happens between sessions?
In between coaching sessions, you will work towards implementing the discussed routine changes/practices with a view to integrating this in to your day to day lifestyle. It is recommended that you try to spend at least twenty minutes each day working towards the objectives set. If this proves to be too challenging to introduce in to your existing routine then we can regroup to work out an achievable goal. There's always a way!
  • Can I discuss the coaching programme with you before I sign up?
Yes, of course! I offer a free discovery call by telephone or video link prior to signing up for the programme. This is a great opportunity to introduce ourselves - for me to understand what you would like to achieve from your sessions, and for you to ascertain if you feel that MBCT is the most effective method for you to progress forward.
